We overturned a study permit refusal at the Federal Court. The officer rejected the application with a generic refusal, citing travel history, family ties, and purpose of visit. The Court found the decision unreasonable, granted judicial review, and ordered redetermination by a new officer. Aghaalikhani has since been cited in many other cases, shaping the law on study permit refusals.
